SCREWDRIVER DECONSTRUCTION

For the following project, I disassembled the B&D LI2000 screwdriver in order to analyze and model its most important component – the Gearbox. I continuously used measurement instruments, such as a Vernier caliper, and a protractor to accurately obtain the dimension of the components to be modeled. However, there were instances in which a dimension could not be measured. For example, the pitch diameter of a gear. In this situation, I used mathematical and geometrical relationships that allowed me to calculate all the required dimensions to correctly model a part. All the components for the gearbox were modeled using CREO parametric 3.0. Finally, these components were used to produce an assembly for the gearbox and provided a better understating of how all the pieces come together within the screwdriver.
